March 27, 2020

Dear R-B Parents and Students,

Faculty and staff hope that this email finds your student(s) and family well. The COVID-19 virus has created unprecedented challenges to both school and society. As an outcome to the COVID-19 epidemic, Richmond-Burton CHS will remain closed from Monday, March 30 thru April 7 (as set by the Illinois State Board of Education and Governor’s office).

During this time, E-Learning will be used to in place of in-class learning. E-Learning is an online platform which students can access instructional notes, lessons and assignments from their teachers.

Students will access notes and assignments via Powerschool and/or GoogleDocs. The lessons, assignments, and activities will align to the current pace and sequencing of the course or specific skill development. Access to the on-line assignments will be open for the duration of the school closure. Teachers and other certified staff will be available via email from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM to answer student questions. Some teachers will also use video conferencing to check in with classes.

When assignments are completed students can submit immediately via Google or turn in when school resumes. If students are unable to access instruction, lessons and assignments via Powerschool or Google, students will be provided paper copies upon request (please call  Mr. Nolen at 815-678-6589 or Dr. Enright at 815-678-7580) or when school resumes.

In order to keep attendance records, a Google sign-in form will be sent to your student’s email each day. Students will simply complete the form and submit by 1:00 PM daily.

We understand that this is an unprecedented occurrence and we are looking forward to working with your students on this new mode of instruction. We are confident that working together we will get through this very difficult and trying experience.

As this is a fluid situation we will send out information when school will reopen. We understand that there may be questions during this phase. Please email one of the following administrators at:
